My Husband Asked Me to Leave the House for His Pregnant Mistress, but When I Put the Folder on the Table, His Mother Lost Color

Six people entered my house and unanimously demanded that I give up my place to my husband’s pregnant mistress.

It was Sunday morning. Low clouds had settled over Mexico City, while the scent of lavender from the house my mother had given me filled the living room. I brought coffee from the kitchen and placed a small copper lock on the table—the lock my mother always carried in her bag and gave me on my wedding day.

Andrés was standing by the window. Beside him sat his mother Teresa, his father Roberto, his sister Natalia, his uncle Mauricio, and Verónica herself. Verónica was five months pregnant. Her hand rested on her stomach, as if she wanted all of us to see whose side life was on.

“Daniela, now is not the time for a fight,” Teresa began.

“Then why did six of you come?”

Andrés lowered his eyes.

“Verónica is carrying my child. We all think it would be better for you too if you signed the divorce quickly.”

The coffee cup did not fall from my hand. It was the only thing with which I was controlling myself at that moment.

“What does ‘it would be better for you’ mean?”

Roberto leaned forward.

“You have to leave this house. Andrés has a new family to create.”

“This house was given to me by my mother.”

Natalia snickered.

“Everything bought during the marriage becomes joint property.”

“My mother transferred it to me three months before the wedding.”

An awkward silence fell over the room. Only the ticking of the wall clock could be heard.

Andrés cleared his throat.

“Don’t complicate things. We can separate peacefully.”

“You were with another woman for seven months and now you are talking to me about peace?”

Verónica looked at me for the first time.

“I am not going to take anyone away. The baby is innocent.”

“I have nothing against the baby,” I answered. “But all of you knew what you were doing.”

Six months earlier, Andrés and I had dreamed of having a child. I went to doctors, took hormones, and faced the negative answers alone. At that time Andrés was meeting Verónica in hotels and, returning home, told me that he was tired.

“How long has she been pregnant?” I asked.

Verónica said quietly:

“Five months.”

“And how long have you been with her?”

Andrés answered me:

“Seven months.”

At that moment I realized that this was not only betrayal. When his mother had called me in recent days and asked when I was leaving the bank, when his father was interested in my work schedule, they were not simply sorting out family matters.

I was a credit-risk manager, and over the years I had learned: if several strange details gather at one point, it is no longer a coincidence.

Two days earlier I had hired a private investigator, Julián. On Friday he arranged a meeting with me at a café. On his computer screen first appeared photographs of Andrés and Verónica, then hotel reservations, and finally contracts from a construction company.

“Daniela, the pregnancy is their smallest problem,” he told me.

“Then what is the big problem?”

Instead of answering, Julián opened another folder. It showed Teresa’s visits to Verónica’s apartment, secret meetings, and transfers that had been made in the name of Andrés’s company.

And now six people were standing in the living room of my house and waiting for me to leave everything.

I slowly picked up the copper lock, put the folder on the table, and said:

“Before I sign, there is one thing you need to see…”

Andrés reached toward the folder, but at that very moment the doorbell rang and the person standing behind him lowered the handle…

The door opened and Julián entered. He was holding a small wooden box.

“Daniela invited me,” he said.

Teresa turned pale.

“This is a family conversation.”

“Not anymore,” I answered.

Julián put the box on the table and looked at Andrés.

“Your company received contracts worth one hundred and sixty million pesos in the last eight months. All the contracts were approved by the department of the woman with whom you are having an affair.”

“It’s a lie!” Andrés shouted.

“Then why did your mother meet Verónica six times?” I asked.

Roberto stood up.

“We were talking about business.”

“In hotel rooms?”

Verónica’s expression changed.

Julián took out photographs. In one of them, all four were sitting together, and a gift box lay on the table.

“This photograph was taken nine weeks ago,” he said. “On the same day Andrés told me he was having dinner with investors from Guadalajara.”

!!!  They left me in the rain with my newborn child, and when one call came, Luka’s smile suddenly disappeared

Andrés stepped toward me.

“Daniela, let’s talk alone.”

“No. Today, for the first time, we will all talk together.”

I slowly opened the folder’s lock. Inside there was only one document, whose existence they could not even imagine.

Teresa said in a whisper:

“Don’t you dare.”

I touched the edge of the first sheet, and at that very moment I realized that opening this document would change not only my marriage, but the future of their entire family…

I opened the folder.

The very first sheet was the house ownership certificate. My name, my mother’s signature, and the transfer date—three months before the wedding—were written on it.

Andrés looked at the paper and immediately stepped back.

“That means nothing. We lived together.”

“Living and ownership are not the same thing,” I said.

Natalia tore the sheet from my hands, but Julián grabbed her hand.

“Careful. Damaging a document will already be difficult for you to explain here.”

Teresa’s lips trembled.

“Do you want to destroy our family?”

“You came yourselves to throw me out of my house.”

I took a second sheet from the folder. It was a report by an independent auditor, Laura Castañeda. It listed contracts, inflated expenses, fictitious consulting services, expensive jewelry recorded as “corporate gifts,” and weekends spent in Los Cabos recorded as “inspection of a construction site.”

One name was repeated on the last page: Mauricio Márquez.

Andrés’s uncle.

“The money was going to a consulting company created by your family,” I said. “You were not deceiving only one another. You were deceiving the state and the investors too.”

Mauricio pushed back his chair.

“It was professional service.”

“Then why was the money transferred in the same week that Verónica’s department approved the contract?”

Verónica leaned against the wall.

“I knew nothing about these transfers.”

Andrés looked toward her.

“Don’t start now.”

“You told me everything was legal!” she shouted. “You told me your family was simply making an investment.”

Everyone in the room heard the truth. Verónica’s pregnancy lost its power for the first time.

Julián took out the next document.

“This is still not everything. We have an audio recording from the meeting where Teresa says that Daniela must be removed from the house before she notices the suspicious operations in the bank.”

!!!  TEIL 4 — Bei der Hochzeit meiner Schwester erschien mein schlimmstes Geheimnis auf der Leinwand – doch als ich mein Handy hob, erstarrte mein Vater

Andrés turned toward her.

“Mother, what was recorded?”

Teresa could not utter a sound.

My phone rang. It was Laura.

“Daniela, listen to me urgently,” she said. “We found a new file in the audit. The money was not going only to the company. There are transfers to an account opened in your husband’s name.”

“How much?”

Laura was silent for several seconds.

“Enough that if you do not disclose this, they will connect you to the responsibility too, because there are traces that your electronic signature was forged on one of the documents.”

I looked at Andrés. He caught my gaze and, for the first time, was truly afraid.

But the worst thing was that another person was already listening to all this. Laura told me that the audit files had been sent to the investigative agency at that very moment and that a group was coming to our house…
